Legal Commentary From Our Team of Attorneys

Laura McLaughlin, Esq., a New Jersey attorney specializing in sexual abuse cases, provided the following commentary: "Cases involving sexual abuse by teachers are particularly disturbing due to the breach of trust and the power imbalance between educators and students. Survivors of such abuse may be entitled to pursue both criminal and civil legal actions. Civil lawsuits can help hold schools accountable for negligent hiring or supervision and provide compensation for the long-term impacts of abuse. Survivors must know that they have rights and options for seeking justice."

If you or a loved one has experienced sexual abuse by a teacher or other school employee, it's important to speak with a qualified attorney to understand your legal rights and options.
